Earthquake catalogues and seismicity models (engl.)(as Part of NHRE: “Hazard Projects and Advanced Geotechnologies")
(I) Overview and MotivationStudents have to be trained in the data elaboration and handling of seismicity data compiled in earthquake catalogs. Basic procedures of probabilistic hazard assessment have to be applied to come up with regional seismicity models. The target area corresponds to the home countries. The students have to contact national institutions and responsible authorities concerning the data availability and the state of national earthquake catalogs including a list of events as well as their epicentral coordinates, magnitude and source parameters. Seismicity models have to be elaborated in terms of occurrence rates of magnitudes (see Fig. 1 to Fig. 3).
The Tasks are specified in (II) for different Sub-Tasks (see the scheme below).
